Rail Europe
Rail travel in Europe offers a unique blend of the old and the new. Train travel in Europe still survives from the time when your journey was as important as your destination.
Today most of Europe is served with fast and convenient rail services that can take you directly from the center of one beautiful city to the center of the next.
Train travel offers a unique advantage over flights when it comes to opportunities to view the passing countryside. The windows in your carriage do far more than simply letting in the light. By taking the time to look outside you have the opportunity to see the real Europe as it passes by.
European rail passes (Eurail passes) provide you with an extremely cost effective way to travel around one or more European countries in a very flexible manner. Passes are available for a specified number of days during a vacation period or they can be provided for a number of consecutive days. Eurail passes can only be used by individuals who live outside the European Union.
Rail Europe has been operating for over 80 years since its inception in New York. The company is privately held with the major shareholders being the Swiss and French national railways. Our affiliation with this company offers you the chance to draw upon a broad reservoir of knowledge about the delights of the Europe rail network to ensure that you can make the most of your travel experiences.
European Rail Timetable
Please note that in many European countries there are regional services that are not available for online booking, and therefore don’t show up when you do a search for point-to-point ticketing. However, it is possible to search for almost all rail services through Europe by visiting the Deutsche Bahn booking site.
Whilst this site only allows bookings on services that are wholly serviced by DB trains, it nevertheless can prove an excellent reference source for timetables and route availability throughout and even somewhat beyond the EU zone.
