Thailand is blessed with some of the world’s most attractive beaches.
There are still a number of these beaches that haven’t yet been overtaken by the pressures of mass tourism.
Experienced travelers recognize that the beauty of these untouched locations often provides the key for some of the best vacations.
Since the surrounds of these beaches haven’t so far been destroyed by overdevelopment you’ll still be able to relax and enjoy these locations. The reaches of the developers have not gotten this far (yet), and that means that you will get the very best in vacation options, especially when it comes to the Thailand beach areas.
Khao Lak offers wonderful Thailand beaches. Just a short drive from the airport, this paradise offers a remote vacation area like no other. Although resort development is now starting to impact upon the water frontages, much of the area is still uninhabited. Just inland from the Khao Lak shoreline, there are still many pockets of lush rainforest with a great selection of wildlife. Fishing and scuba diving is excellent along this part of the coast.
Railay Beach is one of Thailand’s diamonds in the rough. The sands are milky white and the water is clear. Scuba diving is very popular here as well as the fishing. This location is only accessible by long tail boat. As a result, you’ll be able to discover lovely white sandy beaches together with soaring limestone headlands and jungle trails that combine to offer a very striking and dramatic backdrop.
Mae Nam Beach on Koh Samui is ideal for those people who are visiting Koh Samui, but are looking for a little solitude. The beach is quieter than other beached on the island, and you’ll have fewer beach vendors and much more room to spread out. The beach is about 5km long, and is great for swimming and for walking along the beach. The beach faces directly across the channel towards Koh Phangan.
Kluai Beach is located on the northern end of Kho Kood Island. Kho Kood is the fourth largest island in Thailand and is located in the south-east corner of the country near the Cambodian border. This small and peaceful beach has fine white sand and crystal clear emerald waters. The views toward the east are stunning, particularly around sunrise. This would be the ideal beach for anybody with a wish to live out a “stranded desert island castaway” fantasy.
Kho Kradan Island is one of Thailand’s most visually spectacular islands. The long narrow beach is another of those with a very strong appeal to visitors seeking some solitude and relaxation. For those looking for someting more than simply lazing about in hammocks with a book at hand, snorkeling and swimming along the beachfront are also excellent ways to relax. The island is located within the Hat Jao Mai Marine Park.
