Transport to Macau – a great destination for Hong Kong visitors
We decided to visit Macau on a recent trip through Hong Kong. Our plan had been to take theTurbojet ferry service direct from Hong Kong International Airport to the Macau ferry terminal.
This is a great option for visitors to Macau, as it avoids the need to clear customs in Hong Kong,since your luggage is transhipped directly onto the ferry.
Upon arrival at Hong Kong international airport we discovered that we had arrived just too late to board the 5:00pm service and would need to wait until the 8:00pm ferry.
However, a very astute and pleasant member of the Turbojet organization suggested to us that there was another alternative. There was a scheduled ferry departing from the Hong Kong ferry terminal at 6:30pm, and it would be possible for us to travel on this service as “Premier Grand Class” passengers for only a slight increase in the fare.
The service that we were offered included time to complete some duty free shopping, assisted processing through Hong Kong immigration control, luggage location and collection and transfer toa complimentary coach service from the airport to the ferry terminal.
The Turbojet team noticed that the zipper on one of our suitcases had been damaged during its travels from Australia to Hong Kong, and we were even helped in the task of processing the necessary reports and paperwork with the luggage services people before leaving the secure area at the airport.
Once aboard the coach we were all provided with a bottle of iced water to enjoy during the trip to the ferry.
On arrival at the ferry terminal we were escorted to the embarkation level and enjoyed the ambience of the “Super Class Lounge” while waiting to board our ferry.
What with seats at the front of the ferry in a VIP seating area, complimentary water and newspapers as well as an evening meal with red or white wine, the trip itself from Hong Kong toMacau has become a memorable part of the overall experience.
We can offer full marks to the Turbojet people for their courteous, professional and helpful manner. A definite 5 out of 5.
